I was first licensed as GW6BEI in 1981 whilst living in Carmarthen, South Wales. A job move back to England meant the call sign changed to G6BEI, operating mainly mobile on VHF and UHF for a number of years. In 2000 I upgraded the licence and was issued with the new call sign M5GAC . My main interest is in operating all bands and I have recently obtained DXCC. I a member of the Nunsfield House Amateur Radio Group and Derby Raynet. My current station consists of the Icom 746 for the HF bands together with a trusty FT 101-ZD used mainly on 40 metres. Facilities are also available for packet and for monitoring the DX cluster. The aerial system consists of various wire aerials, G5RV, W3DZZ VHF and UHF aerials together with a Tribander dipole for 10/15/20 metres, all supported by a Strumech tower.
